Bagito Group Once Paid 52 Million Per Episode, Here are the Facts

The group, consisting of Miing, Didin, and Unang, was reportedly once featured on television with a fantastic fee of 52 million per episode.

"Mr. Peter Gontha, the CEO of RCTI, offered us the opportunity to perform there and we were highly valued. At that time, we were a group of young people who followed the radio trend, and when we performed at Basho, we brought a different comedic style," said Miing at Assyafi'iyah University Building 2, Bekasi, on Wednesday (28/10/2020).

1. Having Their Own Event

In the 90s, Bagito group had their own show on RCTI called Basho (Bagito Show). At that time, the show became a favorite entertainment for the wider community. Bagito provided intelligent jokes, discussing the hottest issues at that time.

"It's like watching Bagito on Basho is the same as reading the newspaper, up to date. So, the issues we raised were what the people read," said Miing.

2. Fantastic Payment

At that time, being paid 52 million per episode was fantastic. So, what made Bagito's fee quite expensive when appearing on television at that time?

"What made our fee expensive per episode, I forgot. If I'm not mistaken, the first time we were paid almost 3.6 (million), that's (52 million) for one year, it was in '93. The dollar was still 1,800, now it's 14 thousand," Miing concluded.
