Baim Wong Registers Citayam Fashion Week with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ridwan Kamil Gives a Sharp Response: Just Revoke It

"Dear Baim Wong and others, My advice is that not all matters in this world should always be seen from a commercial perspective. The #CitayamFashionWeek phenomenon is an organic grassroots movement that should grow naturally and organically," writes Ridwan Kamil in the caption of his post on Monday (25/7). 

"Once formalized and glorified, especially by outsiders, the purpose and intention will be lost. And usually, the movement will die young."

"Let this be a story, that street fashion will still exist on the streets. Not at Sarinah, not in podcasts, not necessarily have to go international."

"Let it remain Slebew, not Haute Couture. Sometimes they just need space for expression. And there is no need for the country to interfere too much. There is also no need for individuals outside the community to join in and regulate."

"If you want it to be organized better, let them handle it through their own community. By them, not you."

"You and your wife are already great with extraordinary work. Keep going. But not for this initiative."

Previously, through his Instagram account, Baim Wong has written a clarification and apology to all parties who feel disadvantaged.

He and Paula Verhoeven believe that the steps they took are solely aimed at advancing Indonesia.
