In her debut as a singer, Erika Carlina re-released an old song titled 'La Samba Primadona' by musicians Indra Lesmana and Trie Utami which was once popularized by Krakatau in 1998.
Under the auspices of the Mega 718 label and produced by Reggy Winata, 'La Samba Primadona' was released with a new version that has a sexy pop concept.
"My latest single La Samba Primadona is a pop genre that I changed with a little sexy nuance. Because the song itself tells about a beautiful and confident prima donna," said Erika Carlina during a press conference in the SCBD area of South Jakarta on Friday (9/5).

Another reason why Erika Carlina finally chose this song is because it suits her character who likes to party. In fact, she is often dubbed as the 'Queen of Party'.
"We chose this Primadona song because actually my character is already well-known as the queen of party in public. Why don't we create it together. There is a song that is very suitable called La Samba Primadona by Mas Indra Lesmana. Oh, I also sang it a little differently because it was a hit song at the time and I really liked it, so why not try it," she explained.

Meanwhile, for the music video, Erika Carlina collaborated with director Rizal Mantovani. Erika Carlina had long wanted to work with Rizal Mantovani.
"There really wasn't any other choice, I just wanted to work with Mr. Rizal. Thank God there was a chance. Since I couldn't get a film from Mr. Rizal, we decided to work together on this," said the artist born on August 10, 1996.
"We shot all day and I was really impressed with Erika because she wore three different outfits and had three different make-up looks from morning until night. She was so enthusiastic, which made my job easier," added Rizal Mantovani.

What's interesting is that in the music video, Erika Carlina wore clothes designed by famous designer Eddy Betty. In fact, one of the outfits was previously worn by singer Anggun C. Sasmi.
"I was surprised because I knew that these clothes are usually displayed in a museum as part of Eddy Betty's designs, since he has created so many famous works. It was amazing that Eddy Betty allowed me to wear some of his clothes. Hopefully, these clothes will also bring me luck," said Erika Carlina.
