Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Reza Artamevia Admits to Consuming Methamphetamine for the Past 4 Months

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Reza Artamevia admits to using methamphetamine for the past four months as she has been staying at home more during the pandemic.

“RA indeed admits that she has been using methamphetamine for 4 months at home during the Covid pandemic. I am still investigating the motive. Usually, public figures who are caught usually admit it because they are at home,” said Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Yusri Yunus, during a press conference at the Jakarta Metro Police, Sunday (6/9).

1. Is There a Connection to 2016?

The police are still investigating the motive behind Reza Artamevia's drug use. Is there any connection to the incident in 2016? As it is known, the former wife of Adjie Massaid was also arrested with Gatot Brajamusti in West Nusa Tenggara. However, she only underwent rehabilitation.

"We are still investigating the motive, including the connection to 2016 when she became a witness during rehabilitation for about two months," explained Yusri Yunus.

2. Charges Involved

Meanwhile, Reza Artamevia is charged under Article 112 Paragraph 1, subsidiary to Article 127 Paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Law No. 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics. She faces a minimum prison sentence of four years and a maximum of 12 years.

Reza Artamevia was arrested at a restaurant in Jatinegara after buying methamphetamine from someone. When arrested, the evidence found was 0.78 grams of methamphetamine.

3. Arrested at a Restaurant

In the same occasion, Yusri Yunus revealed the chronology of the arrest of the golden-voiced woman. According to him, Reza was arrested at a restaurant in the afternoon.

“A woman with the initials RA, who is a public figure known to all of us, was arrested around Friday, September 4, at around 16.00 at a restaurant on Jalan Raya Jatinegara, East Jakarta,” he explained.

4. Several Pieces of Evidence

The police successfully found several pieces of evidence. The evidence found was 0.78 grams of crystal meth.

“The evidence we managed to secure was one clip of crystal meth weighing 0.78 grams, then there was a wallet, a smoking device (bong), and a lighter. She bought it for 1.2 million, one clip weighing 0.78 grams of crystal meth, and we are still conducting tests on it at the labfor,” explained Yusri Yunus.
