Becoming the Cause of Quitting Singing, 10 Portraits of Chikita Meidy who Became a Victim of Bullying in Elementary School - No Longer Greeting the Perpetrators

Chikita Meidy became the center of attention after speaking up about her experience of being bullied. It happened when Chikita was in school. Through Ferdy Element's YouTube video, Chikita mentioned that the bully was a famous artist or a top artist in the country! What is the full story?

At that time, Chikita was already a child singer. It is known that Chikita is a child singer from the 90s to the early 2000s with hit songs like Kuku Ku and Naik Becak.

Having the status as a child artist, Chikita actually receives different treatment from her friends at school. She is being bullied by her older classmates.

"Back then, bullying was really crazy. I studied at SD-SMP-SMA Islam Al Azhar. There, people saw me as Chiquita, a star, but actually, I just wanted to make friends, be friendly," said Chikita through Ferdy Element's YouTube channel quoted on Friday (24/11).

"Actually, I have an older classmate who maybe I can't cry with, but I might not be able to be close to him anymore. If you know the person, then just stay silent," she continued.

The immediate highlight is Chikita's shocking confession. She mentioned that the senior student who bullied her has now become a big artist.

<nil>

"He was quite cruel to me. This happened when I was in 4th grade. So, he was someone who was much older, but he couldn't even greet me in the end. (He) became a big star," said the 33-year-old woman.

"So, I was bullied. I was constantly harassed by the senior student. I even questioned myself, 'Why do I listen to what others say?'. Oh, it's such a burden being Chiquita Meidy," she said again.

Admitting to being traumatized, Chikita chooses not to greet or interact when she meets the artist who used to torment her.

<nil>

"One day I met that artist, I was traumatized, and that artist has never greeted me until now. Instead, her husband is always kind to me," said this woman of Minangkabau descent.

Chikita did not specifically mention the name of the big artist who bullied her at that time. What is clear is that it made her stop being a child singer and choose to go to school. "So because of (bullying) I immediately stopped singing, focused on school," she concluded.
