Been a Dream Since 10 Years Ago, Ashanty Performs Social Action of Renovating a Citizen's House

Kapanlagi.com - Ashanty recently carried out a social action by providing assistance in renovating a house for an underprivileged resident in Mojokerto, East Java.

"Alhamdulillah, I went to Mojokerto to renovate Mr. Buadi's house, which was not suitable for living," said Ashanty in Jakarta on Thursday (21/10/2021).

Renovating houses to make them suitable for living for the underprivileged has been Ashanty's dream since 10 years ago when she established The Hermansyah Foundation.

However, her intention was often hindered because she wanted to prioritize social activities that would benefit many people.

"Actually, the social content from The Hermansyah Foundation has been running for 10 years, and every time I want to renovate a house, I think to do it later, prioritize helping many people first, rather than just one house," she said.

In addition, the foundation also relies solely on personal funds. "Because it's difficult to find sponsors, so for 10 years, social activities have been funded using personal funds," said Ashanty.

The dream of providing assistance in house renovations finally came true when one of Ashanty's friends agreed to help.

"Yesterday, I met a friend in Surabaya named Jessica, and finally we talked and I told her that I wanted to renovate a house. Then she said, 'Let's do it together, I want to.' Finally, we were able to renovate a house in Mojokerto, Mr. Buadi's house," she said.

The choice to carry out social activities in renovating houses in the Mojokerto area, East Java, according to Ashanty, is not without reason.

"Why Mojokerto? Because my grandfather is originally from Mojokerto. I want to do something there. Finally, I found Mr. Buadi's house which still had a dirt floor. We were able to finish the house in two weeks. On Monday, I will go there for the key handover," she added.
