Before Converting Religion, Adjie Notonegoro Once Felt Heaven and Hell on Earth

Certainly, this 59-year-old designer did not convert his beliefs without any specific reason. Apparently, Adjie once experienced the extraordinary pleasures of the world when he was at the peak of his success. But at that time, he forgot about God.

"And I felt that God is truly powerful, truly amazing because maybe, if you think about it, I have experienced the heaven and hell of this world. You see, I have reached the very top, that's the paradise of this world, but I always forget about God. I always prioritize money, then my children, and then God," Adjie recalled.

1. Once Went Bankrupt

At one point, Adjie also went bankrupt. He admitted that he had experienced having nothing, even being burdened with debts. And it was at that moment that he began to feel saved by God.

"So when I was at the height of my success, having everything, I could go bankrupt and even had only 20 thousand in my wallet. So I said, it's not God who makes the rich poor, it's not God, but it's because of one's own foolishness. But people can make the poor rich because of their blessings," Adjie continued.

2. Once Imprisoned

Not only did he go bankrupt, but Adjie also recalled his previous legal case. As known, Ivan Gunawan's uncle had been imprisoned for embezzlement and debt.

"I have already experienced hell on earth by being imprisoned for 3 and a half months. So at that time, there was actually a diamond buying and selling transaction, but it was actually a civil case due to debt, except for fraud. And I had already made payments, I never even received any money, whatever I received I paid, and it still hasn't been fully paid off," Adjie concluded.
