It turns out there is an interesting story behind Tina Toon's journey in her political career. Especially when she decided to register as a candidate for the PDIP in the 2019-2024 elections.

It can be said that this step by Tina Toon surprised the public, especially when she was known to enliven the 2019 election contest. The fact is, not many people know that this former child singer has enough experience to be involved in the world of politics. Check out her story, which was reportedly not approved by her family.

Various responses regarding this matter were certainly felt by Tina Toon, even from her own family who also gave less favorable responses. When met in the Kebon Sirih area, Central Jakarta, (26/8) Monday afternoon, Tina mentioned that her parents and relatives were not in agreement with that decision.

"At first, there was a pro and con within the family, there were always comments like why become a member of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives," said Tina Toon.

Tina stated that many fears arose from her family. One of them is that the family fears Tina becoming a victim of crime due to political competition.   "Yes, they think that politics is often noisy and the atmosphere is tense. They become worried," she said.

However, because of the pros and cons from her family, Tina became even more motivated. In the end, she decided to run as a legislative candidate and participated in the campaign, even monitoring the number of votes in her electoral district.

"But I proved everything in the first five years and the family definitely supports. Because politics is not just about noise and hot issues," she explained.

"What more can we serve in the community, after I proved that the family gives appreciation," she continued.

In the end, Tina Toon managed to get her family to support her. This further ignited her spirit to continue moving forward as a bridge for the people's aspirations.

"Thank God, yesterday I had a lot of support and received many votes, I proved to my family that this strong support is one of the reasons I keep moving forward. Yes, they support and pray for me even though there is still a sense of concern," she concluded.
