Being Called Hindu for Making Tumpeng, Kaesang Pangarep's Comment Successfully Attracts Attention

The reason is that this Ustad said that making tumpeng (a traditional Indonesian dish) means that person is automatically a Hindu. Of course, netizens, including Kaesang Pangarep, immediately shared the video and flooded it with various comments.

Ustaz Abdul Aziz explains that the triangular-shaped tumpeng symbolizes Trimurti. According to his explanation, Trimurti is a trinity consisting of three gods believed by Hindu followers. However, what caused a stir is when he said that people who make tumpeng interpret it as being Hindu.

"Therefore, in Widyasastra, it is said that making tumpeng is sufficient. Tumpeng is in the form of a triangle. The triangle referred to here is Trimurti. The three manifestations are the gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. And Hindu followers say that whoever makes tumpeng means they are already Hindu," explains Ustaz Abdul Aziz.

"Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that whoever resembles a certain group, then he belongs to that group," he added.

2. What is the Solution from the Ustaz?

The Ustaz understands that until now, Indonesian people are often associated with making tumpeng during events like thanksgiving. Therefore, he suggests that it is fine to make nasi kuning (yellow rice) as long as it is flattened in a container.

"You don't have to make tumpeng, just flatten it. You can put it on a plate, you can put it in a lunch box," explains the Ustaz.
