Kapanlagi.com - Last April, Mona Ratuliu and her husband, Indra Brasco, both got exposed to Covid-19. They have fully recovered, and now Mona tells the story of how her husband initially tested positive while her PCR test came back negative.

However, a few days later, Mona Ratuliu also tested positive for Covid-19. Unlike Indra Brasco, who had to be hospitalized due to his worsening condition, Mona only underwent self-isolation at home.

"Actually, I only lost my sense of smell for three days, but I felt fine, like I wasn't sick. I just followed the doctor's advice to isolate for 14 days," said Mona Ratuliu when contacted by KapanLagi.com®, on Wednesday (21/7).

When she was diagnosed with Covid-19, Mona Ratuliu admitted that she felt down because she was worried about the fate of her four children. Especially her youngest, Numa, who is still a baby. However, she still felt grateful because the test results for her four children came back negative.

"I did feel down because I was still breastfeeding but tested positive. I was worried about the children. On the first day Indra went to the hospital, my head was a mess because I had to figure out whether the children should stay at a hotel or not. But if they stay at a hotel, who will take care of their meals?" she said.

1. Always Video Call Family

"I'm confused with everything, not to mention the children's homework, at that time the children were also taking exams. Not to mention worrying about my husband who is in the hospital, I was very scared. Indra cried when he found out I was positive, sad because the children don't have any parents, both of them are sick," continued Mona Ratuliu.

To avoid being constantly down, Mona and Indra Brasco finally looked for activities that could boost their immune system. One of them is video calling their beloved children, family, and friends. Because it gives them new spirit.

"Only Indra and I are sure that we always receive important input so we don't get stressed. So we manage our emotions properly. Video calling the children really helps. Indra and I video call (constantly) if we're not sleeping, video calling the family," she explained.

"With video calling, we are given encouragement by many people, our minds are not idle, not thinking about unnecessary things. So video calling is a way to support each other. Then watch funny TV shows. Basically, just look for things that make us happy," she added.

2. Don't Overthink

In addition, they don't want to overthink. During self-isolation, Mona and her husband always think about today. What will they do today to make their hearts happy and enthusiastic.

"Indra and I had a strategy where we didn't think too far ahead, just focused on living for today. For example, who to video call, what to watch, what delicious food to eat that will make us happy. That's what really helped us not to feel too down, just trying to stay motivated every day," she concluded.

Fortunately, now Mona and Indra have both recovered and can be reunited with their children and family. The couple also shared a photo of their happiness when they were able to embrace their four children after being separated for approximately 2 weeks.

Through the post, Mona expressed her gratitude for all the prayers and support during her battle with Covid-19. She also encouraged those who are currently fighting against Covid, and reminded how important the 3 M's are: wearing a mask, washing hands, and maintaining distance.
