Bow Down, Portrait of Yudha Arfandi Charged with Death Penalty for the Death of Dante, Child of Tamara Tyasmara

Today, the Public Prosecutor read the charges against Yudha Arfandi in the case of the death of Raden Andante, the child of Tamara Tyasmara and Angger Dimas, Monday (23/9). The prosecutor is seeking the death penalty for Yudha due to several considerations.

The most aggravating factor according to the prosecutor is that Yudha does not acknowledge or regret his actions towards Dante. Yudha is also considered to have always been evasive during the trial, leading the prosecutor to impose the heaviest punishment on him.

In the reading of the charges, the prosecutor assessed that Yudha was proven guilty of taking another person's life. The prosecutor demanded that Yudha be sentenced to death for his crime.

"To impose a death sentence on the defendant Yudha Arfandi," said the prosecutor in a hearing attended by the victim's family.

Yudha only bowed his head as the prosecutor presented the charges. The prosecutor also explained the reasons why Yudha was given the maximum sentence for Dante's death.

The prosecutor stated that Yudha deserves the death penalty because he did not confess his actions to Dante. Yudha also did not show remorse for the death of Tamara's child and Angger Dimas.

The public prosecutor also assessed that Yudha's actions towards Dante were very cruel and inhumane. Throughout the trial, Yudha always twisted the facts, which aggravated the sentence proposed for him.

"There are no mitigating circumstances. We demand that the defendant Yudha Arfandi be declared legally and convincingly guilty of committing a crime intentionally taking the life of another person as stated in the primary indictment article 340 of the Penal Code," said the public prosecutor.

For this punishment, Yudha's side was given the opportunity to present a defense. The next hearing will take place on October 7.
