Tutut wrote about his memories of his mother's death exactly one day after the date of her departure. Ibu Tien passed away on February 28, 1996, while Tutut was abroad.

"Twenty-four (24) years ago, precisely on April 28, 1996, our beloved mother was called by Allah SWT. At that time, I was on duty leading the World Blood Donor Organization meeting (in France and then in London). Alhamdulillah, at that time I served as the President of the World Blood Donor," Tutut wrote to start his story.

"How shocked I was when I heard the news of my mother's passing. When I left, she was still healthy. Upon hearing the news of her passing, I immediately returned to Jakarta. That was the longest journey I felt during my travels," he continued.

2. Directly to Solo

On the same day after being declared deceased, the late Mother Tien's body was flown to Solo. The family chose to bury Mother Tien in Astana Giri Bangun, a family cemetery complex built by the Cendana Family.

"The flight I got at that time was SQ, and I had to stop in Singapore. To speed up the time, my husband picked me up in Singapore. We went straight to Solo. Mother's body was already there," Tutut continued.

After seeing her late mother's body, Tutut met her father. She was known to be very close to her father, and Soeharto told her the chronology of Mother Tien's death.

On their way to Astana Giri Bangun, Soeharto told his daughter a story. That morning, Mother Tien complained of difficulty breathing but did not feel any pain in her chest.

"Your mother that morning, complained,
"Father, why do I have difficulty breathing?"
"Father asked which part is hurting, dear,"
Mother said, "There's nothing wrong, just difficulty breathing, dear."

Father asked again, "Is her chest hurting, dear?"
Mother whispered, "No, it's not."
"Father laid her down with a slightly higher pillow, because your mother had difficulty breathing."
"Father called the aide to immediately prepare the ambulance. Mother had to be taken to the hospital immediately."

I tried to ask Father, "So, Mother didn't complain of any pain at all, right, Father?"
Father answered firmly, "No, she only mentioned difficulty breathing."
"What time was that, Father?" I asked.
"Around 3 o'clock," Father said. So, after Father performed the Tahajjud prayer.

Then Father continued his story, "On the way, your mother had already lost consciousness. When we arrived at the hospital, all the doctors tried to help your mother. But, Allah had a different plan," Tutut wrote.

After a long time, the cause of Mother Tien Soeharto's death finally revealed. Tutut wrote this because she was frustrated with rumors that her mother died from being shot by her two younger siblings.

"Then I heard the news spread, that mother died from being shot by my siblings. I was surprised, who is the person who spread such malicious news. By Allah, what father told, that's what happened. At first, I was going to keep silent. But it seems that the news is being repeated over and over by irresponsible people.

Before Allah calls me, the public must know the truth. And thank God now there is social media, which thankfully I am also active there. Whoever made up that story, and whoever spread it, we leave it to Allah to judge. Because we believe that Allah is the Most Just Judge," she wrote on Instagram.
