Caren Delano's Car Stolen, Police Suspect Involvement of Professional Gang

The South Jakarta Setiabudi Metro Police Chief, Arif Purnama Oktora, when met on Wednesday afternoon (4/10), stated that the perpetrators indeed made this theft modus operandi their profession.

"We suspect that the driver is part of a vehicle theft syndicate posing as a personal driver. We have already apprehended two individuals and are still pursuing the others involved as wanted persons. So, a total of 5 people are involved including the driver's identity," said Kompol Arif Purnama Oktora.

To facilitate their various actions, the police stated that the perpetrators constantly change their location.

"The perpetrators do indeed keep changing their location, meaning they are not settled in one place. This is their profession," he added.

The police suspect that the perpetrators are indeed a motor vehicle theft syndicate. When apprehended, Caren Delano's car had already changed hands to another perpetrator.

"Therefore, we suspect that the person is part of a motor vehicle theft syndicate. So when we apprehended the perpetrator, the car had already changed hands and its whereabouts are already known to us, God willing, in the near future," he said.

In addition, the police also suspect that the perpetrators of the theft of this Caren Delano car have a professional network. Therefore, the police are still conducting further investigation.

"To further develop whether this is a professional network, meaning we are still actively pursuing the missing car unit until today, but its whereabouts are already known to us," he added.
