Celebrate Chinese New Year, Delon Invites Wife to Visit Her Mother and Give Envelopes Containing Gold

Kapanlagi.com - Every Chinese New Year, singer Delon Thamrin takes the time to visit his mother who lives in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. This year is no exception. Wearing matching red outfits, Delon came with his wife, Aida Chandra, to his mother's house on Saturday (25/1).

"Like every year, I visit my mom's house. So, I always clear my schedule and don't sing on Chinese New Year," he said.

Delon and Aida's presence was warmly welcomed by their mother. Various Chinese New Year dishes were also served. While enjoying the available dishes, Delon explained that there is a special meaning behind the various types of food provided by his mother.

"There are three elements here. The water element, so there must be water, soups, so that we are flooded with blessings. Here on land, there are mushrooms, chicken, duck. There is noodles, a sign of long life, so that on this Chinese New Year, our blessings increase," he said.

After the meal together, Delon performed another Chinese New Year tradition. He gave a red envelope to his mother, which Delon admitted contained a gold coin engraved with a dragon.

"It is mandatory every year. Well, my mom is my only parent. This is also a prayer for my mom's continuous health, beauty, and eternal youth," said Delon.

After that, Delon and his wife went outside the house to the Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) which is not far from their house. In RPTRA, dozens of children had gathered to welcome Delon and his wife.

Delon and his wife then distributed red envelopes to the children. He hopes that his gifts will make the children happy and bring goodness to him. "I don't share much. But, don't look at the contents, what matters is that they are happy and pray for us," said Delon.
