Choose Natural Childbirth at Home, Kartika Putri Becomes More Confident Because of Panda?

Kartika Putri has just given birth to her first child, her beloved fruit with Habib Usman Bin Yahya. Kartika gave birth to a beautiful baby named Syarifah Khalisa Aghniya Bahira on Friday, October 18, 2019. This 28-year-old woman chose to give birth at home, but of course with the help of medical personnel.

This unusual decision was made by Kartika after going through several considerations and lengthy discussions. Let's take a look at Kartika's experience with home birth.

"Alhamdulilah the baby has been born, she is a girl. She was born healthy and perfect. The process was also made very easy. It was so easy that I gave birth at home. I've always wanted to give birth at home," said Kartika during a press conference at her residence in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Monday night (21/10/2019).

Since the beginning, KarPut has wanted to give birth through water birth, but this intention was postponed because she had chickenpox at the end of her pregnancy. However, she went to Singapore to have her pregnancy checked to know the condition of the fetus.

"Finally, I went for a check-up in Singapore and was told that the baby's condition is healthy, in the correct position, and not entangled in the umbilical cord. When I came back, I saw on YouTube that there were elephants giving birth and pandas giving birth on their own. From there, I became more convinced that I wanted to give birth at home," added the 28-year-old artist.

Kartika's decision for a 'water birth' was not easily accepted by her husband. "In short, I was deceived. I initially took her to the hospital and she said we should wait because it was only 2 cm dilated. Then she started insisting on giving birth at home, which made me extremely worried. When it reached 6 cm dilation, I asked her again and she told me to leave the room. But I tried to remain calm because it would be dangerous if she panicked too," explained Usman in the same place.

"I was thinking about what if people start giving birth at home too? I am already very ready, checked that the baby is healthy, and the medical experts are reliable. I'm afraid it might inspire others. Don't try this at home," she emphasized.

Kartika also admitted that her parents panicked with the decision she made. "When my parents came to the house, they scolded me immediately. Finally, the child was taken to the doctor and thankfully nothing happened," she concluded.
