Nicsap himself has to thank Mira Lesmana who had discovered his talent at that time. The question is, how did Mira find Nicsap when she started casting the cast of AADC in the early 2000s?
The answer was finally revealed by Mira herself when she collaborated with Luna Maya recently in one of her YouTube video posts. Before talking about the character Rangga, Mira briefly told the story of the love gang, which is also crucial in the AADC composition.
"I happened to be with Rudy Soedjarwo, the first director who was very specific in choosing who would be suitable for role A, role B. Even the love gang, we kept changing. Dian Sastrowardoyo became Karmen, then who played who for a while, we kept rotating. Finally, okay, he was suitable for this," Mira said as quoted by KapanLagi.com from Luna Maya's YouTube channel.

After successfully obtaining the perfect cast for the love gang character, Mira and the director at that time were looking for the main actor, Rangga. Mira then explained the process.
"Well, Rangga was the most difficult. When we already got all the love gang, we still couldn't find the person who we thought was right. So Rudy and I remember tearing apart magazines like crazy, looking for someone who roughly matched what we both had in mind," Mira continued.
After a long search, Mira and Rudy finally found Rangga in Nicsap. It turns out that the German-blooded man had previously auditioned for AADC, but for a different role and failed.
"Then at one point, we opened a teen magazine, and we both saw (Nicsap). And we both said we liked him because of his very sharp eyes. And it turned out that's what we wanted for Rangga's character," she explained again.
"So at that time, we called for casting. Then our friends said, 'We've already cast that girl (Nicsap), but for a different role'. So it turns out he was called twice," she concluded while laughing.
