Chronology of Deddy Corbuzier Testing Positive for Covid-19, Worsening Lung Condition - Struggling to Recover from the Cytokine Storm

In a podcast titled SAYA SAKIT, KRITIS DAN HAMPIR MENINGGAL. WHY I STOP  which was uploaded on August 22, Deddy Corbuzier revealed the real reason why he hasn't appeared for about 2 weeks.

In the 38-minute video podcast, Deddy Corbuzier disclosed that he was tested positive for Covid-19 some time ago. "I'm sick, I have Covid," said the 44-year-old man.

It was not an easy situation for Deddy Corbuzier when he was positive for Covid. The father of Azka Corbuzier revealed that he was in a critical condition that endangered his life.

1. Managing a Positive Family

Deddy Corbuzier's illness began when he took care of several family members who were exposed to Covid. Feeling that he had always maintained a healthy lifestyle, Deddy was confident that he would not get infected.

"I took care of my family who were almost all affected by Covid. So I took care of them, taking care, finding hospitals, finding medicine, and so on. And I had constant contact with them," he said.

"At that time, I was very confident because I knew that my lifestyle was healthy, and I followed health protocols. But it turned out that the burden on him was too high. I checked my antigen every day, and it turned out I had Covid," Deddy continued.

When he found out that he was infected with Covid, Deddy Corbuzier remained quite calm. He believed that he would recover quickly because his body condition had always been good due to exercise and consuming healthy food.

"I'm not worried at all. Okay, I got Covid, maybe I'll have a fever for 2 days. That's what was on my mind because I have full vitamins, my food is healthy, my exercise is strong, I'm gonna survive this," Deddy concluded.

2. Fever of 40 Degrees

Deddy Corbuzier's belief that he could recover quickly proved to be true. In less than a week, he was declared negative for COVID-19 and began his activities again.

However, Deddy's struggle to recover from COVID-19 is not yet over. In the second week since he was declared positive, his condition worsened. He experienced a fever of up to 40 degrees.

"Suddenly, in the second week after I got infected, my fever suddenly rose. At night, my fever rose to almost 40 at that time. Then it rose again in the morning, I even saw it reach 41 but immediately went down because of taking paracetamol," he said.

"Something is wrong, I have vertigo. Then I had a CT-Thorax scan and it turns out there is damage, about 30 I think. Then I was asked to stay in the hospital. But my oxygen saturation is still 99. So the doctor at that time said that I could stay at home, but we have to monitor the progress in the next few days and we were given medication, okay, I went home," explained Deddy Corbuzier.

3. Worsening Lung Condition

Deddy Corbuzier's deteriorating health condition has forced him to return to the hospital. During the lung examination, the damage worsened.

"Two days later, my fever went up again, I felt vertigo and other symptoms, so in the morning I was taken to Medistra. I met Dr. Gunawan, who said it was getting worse. When my CT-Thorax was checked, it was already 60. It went from 30 to 60 and my condition entered a cytokine storm," explained the muscular man.

Deddy Corbuzier admitted that he was shocked to find out that he was in a cytokine storm condition. Every effort was made to restore his health.

"I was quite surprised when they said it was a cytokine storm because as far as I know, a cytokine storm is what causes death. So at that time, I couldn't go home. I aggressively worked, did the best to take the medicine right away, and we'll see, (the doctor said) Mr. Deddy cannot go home," he said firmly.

4. Deddy Corbuzier Disappointed

Not only surprised, Deddy Corbuzier also feels very disappointed with himself. He has been trying to have a healthy lifestyle by exercising and watching the food he consumes. However, he did not expect that despite all his efforts, he could still be in critical condition when infected with COVID.

"Finally, I entered the hospital. At that time, I had a fever, my body was in pain, and I was disappointed. Very disappointed, because I didn't expect someone like me to be like this. With everything I did, I am disappointed," he said.

"And this cytokine storm is a critical phase where life or death is at stake. So that's what actually happened," Deddy Corbuzier concluded.
