Chronology of Omas's Death, Stops Breathing After Being Left by Child to Feed the Cat - Not Because of Covid-19

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from the entertainment world of the homeland. Senior comedian, Omas, passed away due to the diabetes he had been suffering from for a long time. Omas was estimated to have passed away at around 19:30 WIB on Thursday night (16/7/2020).

Omas was first known to have passed away by one of her children, Dio Ambiah. The child then briefly recounted the chronology of her mother's death when met at the Cimanggis funeral home, Depok, West Java, on Friday (17/7/2020), early morning.

"So, she was watching TV as usual around half past seven. I left for a moment to feed the cat, and I entrusted it to my younger sibling. Then, around ten minutes to eight, I already came back and went to the bathroom. I noticed that her stomach wasn't expanding or deflating, not like someone who was breathing. I thought she was sleeping because her eyes were half open. Then I checked her breath through her nose, and it was gone, and when I woke her up, she was already weak and her hands were very cold. Then I called my eldest sibling and gave first aid, but there was no reaction. Only then did we call all the relatives when Mama was no longer there," Dio recounted.

1. Don't Want to go to the Doctor

Dio explained that for the past four days, the deceased's condition was dropping. High blood sugar and asthma relapse. At that time, Omas could no longer move.

"He's afraid of doctors, that's why we didn't dare to call the doctor first, because sometimes when the doctor is called, he doesn't want to be examined. If the illness has been going on for quite a while, since before fasting, like typhoid. Then a few weeks after Eid, there was some improvement, he could go to the market with me. But the worst was these past four days. He didn't want to eat, didn't want to take medicine," said Dio.

2. Condition Worsened Before Death

Before passing away, the deceased had a fever. His condition worsened towards Maghrib, as it was difficult for him to breathe, like a choking person.

"We gave him medicine to reduce the fever. We thought he was choking or something like that, then we gave him medicine, and it was fine for a while. But after Asr, he felt uncomfortable, so we gave him water and he felt better. Then the worst was during Maghrib, it was like he was choking (his breath). We gave him water, which used to help, but this time it didn't," continued Dio.

3. Had Time to Joke

During the four days when her condition worsened, Omas didn't talk much. But she had time to joke with Dio, her second child, even though she couldn't speak at all.

"Yesterday we were still joking, but I couldn't talk, just nodded my head," Dio recalled.

4. Denies Due to COVID-19

As we know, we are currently in a corona pandemic situation. But Dio ensures that his mother's death was not due to COVID-19 infection.

"No. Because she had been to the hospital and was tested for COVID. It was just a relapse of her diabetes and asthma," Dio concluded.
