Chronology of the Passing of Anji Manji's Mother, Sent a Message Before Passing Away

The passing of Siti Sundari, the mother of singer Anji Manji, leaves a deep sorrow but also a sense of peace. Anji reveals the timeline of the moments before his mother took her last breath. It turns out that there were no obvious signs or complaints of pain just moments before the incident occurred.

According to Anji, his mother did have a history of heart disease and stroke symptoms. However, the health condition of the deceased appeared to be very good from Ramadan until the recent Eid moment, as she felt happy to be able to gather with the entire extended family.

"Actually, Mama had heart disease and (stroke) symptoms under treatment. But since Ramadan, especially after Eid, Mama looked healthy because she met with her siblings, her younger siblings, her nieces, cousins, it was quite a crowd," said Anji Manji when met at the TPU Mangun Jaya, Bekasi Timur, West Java, Friday (27/3/2026).

Siti Sundari's happiness was clearly visible when attending a large family event from her lineage during last Eid. Not a single health complaint came out of the mouth of Anji's mother at that time; she even seemed to really enjoy the time with her siblings.

"Right after Eid, we had a family halal bihalal from the Pamitran lineage, Mama's descendants. Mama is the fifth child of five siblings. The whole family was there, so it was really enjoyable at that time. And Mama was just happy, no complaints," said Anji.

3. Anji's Last Communication

The last communication between Anji and his mother occurred the night before the incident through a text message. His mother only said goodnight and was still able to joke with her assistant and other relatives until the early morning.

"Yesterday there were no complaints either. She just said goodnight to me, just wanted to sleep, on WhatsApp. And the day before, Mama was at home, after meeting my cousin who also came over, chatting with Mama, laughing, and talking on the phone with my friends. There were no issues," he explained further.

Shocking news was received by Anji in the morning when the housekeeper reported that his mother had not yet woken up. Anji, whose house is nearby, immediately ran to check on his mother, who had apparently started to show signs of losing her life.

"The next day, there was no problem, I chatted with my brother until 11 PM. Then from 11 PM to 3 AM, I talked with my assistant. Then I texted saying I wanted to sleep. Suddenly at 7:20 AM, I was informed that Mama didn't want to wake up," said Anji.

Anji felt a very weak heartbeat before it finally stopped completely. He witnessed how his mother left peacefully in front of him.

"I immediately ran because thankfully the house is very close. I tapped, 'Mom, Mom, Mom, wake up Mom.' Then she snored, and it seemed like she was gone at that point. Because before that, I could still feel a weak heartbeat, but after that, as I was holding her, it was gone," he concluded.
