Citra Award Winners of the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) 2024: ‘FALLING IN LOVE LIKE IN MOVIES’ Dominates the Stage with 7 Prestigious Awards

FALLING IN LOVE LIKE IN MOVIES successfully won the highest award, namely Best Feature Film. The main star couple, Ringgo Agus Rahman and Nirina Zubir, also brought home awards for the categories of Best Male Lead and Best Female Lead. Not only that, Alex Abbad and Sheila Dara Aisha also contributed to the achievements of this film by winning the categories of Best Male Supporting Actor and Best Female Supporting Actress. Completing this domination, Donne Maula successfully won the award for the category of Best Theme Song Creator.

The scenario FALLING IN LOVE LIKE IN MOVIES has received high appreciation, with Yandie Laurens winning the award for Best Original Screenplay. In the category Audience Choice Actor, Afrian Arifsandy successfully won the Rahmat Hidayat Award through his role in the film SIKSA KUBUR.

The film AGAK LAEN received the Antemas Award as the film that successfully set a record with 9.1 million viewers. The production team and the cast expressed their pride in this achievement and thanked the Indonesian audience for their support.

The film SAMSARA also received significant attention by bringing home 4 Citra Awards, including Best Director for Garin Nugroho.

The film SIKSA KUBUR directed by Joko Anwar successfully won an award in the Audience Choice category.

The award for Best Adapted Screenplay Citra Award was given to Jujur Prananto, Mira Lesmana, Riri Riza, and Virania Munaf for their work in the film PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2. In an interview with the media, they stated that the making of this film was a long process but very exciting because they could gather to brainstorm story ideas, and they mentioned that they will think about continuing Sherina's story to PETUALANGAN SHERINA 3.

FFI 2024 also awards the Lifetime Achievement Citra Award as a special tribute to filmmakers for their dedication and significant contributions to the history of the Indonesian film industry, namely Imam Tantowi.

Not to be missed, the Lifetime Achievement Citra Award was also given to Gope T. Samtani. In an interview last night, the founder and owner of the production house Rapi Film revealed his plans to make about five films next year, including WAKTU MAGRIB 2, SIJIN 2, and PENGABDI SETAN 3.
