Congratulations! Amalia Tambunan Successfully Becomes Miss Global Indonesia 2020

Kapanlagi.com - The grand finale of the annual Miss Global Indonesia 2020 pageant was held on Sunday (13/9) night at Ciputra Artpreuner, South Jakarta. Based on the judging results, Amalia Tambunan, the representative from North Sumatra, achieved the highest score and successfully obtained her dream crown.

Amalia defeated 12 finalists from various provinces who had previously undergone online auditions. This is the first time Miss Global Indonesia has held a hybrid event by combining online and offline systems.

"I am definitely happy and very touched to be crowned as Miss Global Indonesia. Previously, I was informed that I became a finalist in August. I only had less than a month to prepare. I had a short time to prepare many things, including public speaking and others. So I am happy to finally win," said Amalia after the crowning.

Meanwhile, the second place was achieved by Desy Asnawati (West Kalimantan), and Olivia Aten (DKI Jakarta) as the third place winner who also won Miss Social Media. In this event, Lizzy Audrey (West Java 1) was also chosen as Best Performance and Monica Florence (West Java 2) as Miss Intelegencia.

"Today we successfully held the first beauty pageant event conducted in a hybrid manner. Of course, prioritizing very strict health protocols. So everyone who is present here has gone through a strict process," said Dr. Teguh Dokter Teguh, the supervisor of PT Mahakarya Duta Pesona Indonesia which oversees Miss Global Indonesia.

2. Representing Indonesia

Amelia herself will represent the homeland in the Miss Global International 2021 event held in Indonesia. So, what preparations will Amelia make?

"The preparations will be almost the same later. But they will definitely be superior to us, including public speaking. I will try to cover up my shortcomings in order to compete with dozens of finalists from other countries," concluded Amalia.
