The video went viral on social media and received support from netizens. Jember Police Chief, AKBP Aris Supriyono, admitted that the actions taken by his officers were in accordance with the government's instructions.

Previously, they were advised to postpone the event, but it was still held, only moved to another house. Around 30 people gathered on that day, Sunday (29/3).

2. In Jakarta, Kembangan Police Chief Holds Luxurious Reception

In Jakarta, Kembangan Police Chief Kompol Fahrul Sudiana held a wedding reception amidst the Corona or Covid-19 pandemic. The consequences were quite fatal, as he was immediately removed from his position as Police Chief.

The reception was held at Hotel Mulia, Senayan, Jakarta and was quite luxurious. The happy couple participated in the sword parade procession and wore police uniforms.

Following an investigation by the Propam of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kembangan Police Chief was found to have violated discipline and the National Police Chief's decree regarding compliance with government policies in handling the spread of Covid-19.

"Strict measures need to be taken by the police force against their members who neglect their duties, so that the National Police Chief's decree has authority and is not easily disregarded, especially by young police officers. Therefore, it is appropriate that as a result of his wedding party, Kompol Fahrul was transferred, removed from his position, and investigated by Propam," said Chairman of the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Presidium, Neta S. Pane, on Thursday (2/4).

The content of the Kapolri Decree Number Mak/2/III/2020 is as follows:

1. Considering the national situation regarding the rapid spread of Covid-19, the government has issued policies to handle it properly, quickly, and accurately to prevent its spread from becoming a disturbance to public security and order.

2. In order to protect the public, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) always adheres to the principle that the safety of the people is the highest law (Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto). Therefore, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police issues the following Decree:

a. Not holding social and community activities that cause the gathering of a large number of people, both in public places and in their own surroundings, namely:

1) Social, cultural, religious, and belief meetings in the form of seminars, workshops, discussions, and similar activities;

2) Music concerts, fairs, festivals, bazaars, night markets, exhibitions, and family receptions;

3) Sports, arts, and entertainment activities;

4) Protests, parades, and carnivals; and

5) Other activities that result in the gathering of a crowd.

b. Stay calm and avoid panic, and increase vigilance in their respective environments by always following the official information and recommendations issued by the government;

c. If it is urgent and unavoidable, activities involving a large number of people must be carried out while maintaining distance and complying with government procedures related to the prevention of the spread of Covid-19;

d. Do not make excessive purchases or hoard basic necessities and other community needs;

e. Not affected and spreading news from unclear sources that can cause unrest in society; and

f. If there is information with unclear sources, you can contact the local police

3. That if any actions contrary to this Statement are found, every member of the Indonesian National Police is obliged to take necessary police actions in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.

4. This Statement is conveyed to be known and complied with by the entire society.
