Converts, Maudy Ayunda & Jesse Choi Married in Islamic Ceremony - Ijab Kabul in English

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Maudy Ayunda has recently tied the knot with her partner, Jesse Choi on Sunday (22/5/2022) in an Islamic ceremony conducted by the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Cilandak.

Bunyamin, the head of KUA Cilandak, stated that Jesse Choi converted to Islam before the wedding ceremony.

1. Converts

"Yes, they got married in an Islamic ceremony. Both of them are already Muslim. Jesse or Maudy's husband, converted to Islam on March 25, 2022, at the Istiqlal Mosque, guided by Kiyai Haji Prof. Doctor Nazzarudin. That was at the Istiqlal Mosque," said Bunyamin at his office on Monday (23/5/2022).

Maudy Ayunda and Jesse Choi's wedding went smoothly and solemnly. Although the Ijab Kabul was recited in English, Jesse Choi himself was able to recite it with one breath.

"Alhamdulillah, the Ijab Kabul was recited once and they used English," he said.

Bunyamin revealed that his office only guided Maudy Ayunda and Jesse Choi to get married. This is because the Ijab Kabul was conducted by Maudy Ayunda's biological father.

3. Guiding the Marriage Contract

"We from the KUA guided the marriage contract only for the ijab kabul which was directly performed by Maudy's biological father, Didit, as he is called," said Bunyamin.

"Yesterday, during the ijab kabul process, Maudy's marriage permission was immediately placed on the contract table," concluded Bunyamin.
