Daniel Mananta Bids Farewell After Over a Decade as Host of 'Indonesian Idol', Boy William Ready to Be Compared

Kapanlagi.com - Several months after the tenth season announced Lyodra as the winner, RCTI is holding Indonesian Idol with the name Special Season. It is called special not only because this singing talent search event is held in the same year, but also in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

What caught attention is the presence of Boy William as the host of the event. As known, that position has been held by Daniel Mananta for almost years.

Through his social media post, Daniel Mananta revealed that he is no longer involved in Indonesian Idol. He will surely miss the moments with the crew and the judges.

"I feel honored, as I have been trusted by RCTI and Fremantle to be an important part of Indonesian Idol as the host and its big family until the time I resign from this magnificent stage. After this, I will definitely miss the togetherness with all of you. Indonesian Idol, keep succeeding," wrote Daniel as quoted from his latest Instagram caption post.

2. Ready to be Compared

Daniel Mananta has decided not to be involved anymore, which led the organizers to search for a suitable replacement, and they chose Boy William. Boy himself feels honored to be trusted and doesn't mind being compared.

"I'm really happy to be given this opportunity. There are many great and cooler people out there than me, but now I'm here and I'll do my best. I have prepared myself to be compared to Daniel Mananta, which is fine. Being compared to Daniel is cool because he is kind," Boy said when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, last week.
