Dede Sunandar's Story: Comfortable Being a Restaurant Waiter, Bankrupt After Failing to Run for Office?

Although he rarely appears on television now, Dede admits that some people still throw sarcastic comments when they meet him in the café. However, he handles it casually.

"Yes, that's right, isn't it Bang Dede? Why aren't you on TV anymore, why are you working here? Well, that's just how it is. But I'm still an MC, still entertaining as well. This New Year's Eve, coincidentally, I'll be MCing with the band Stinky Reborn," he revealed.  

Dede feels proud to be able to collaborate with musicians like Stinky Reborn and Andika Mahesa in the events he manages. "So, it's a pride to be on the same stage as the band Stinky Reborn. Just yesterday, I was with Kakanda Bang Andika Mahesa here too, just like that," he added.  

In addition to his new job, Dede is also opening opportunities for his friends in the entertainment world. He often gives recommendations to his musician and comedian friends to perform at the events he manages.

"So, we also help friends on the other side. It's like from a band we know, like Tipe-X, we ask how much the price is. So, there Dede has a link, also conveying blessings for friends there," he said.  

Dede not only takes opportunities for himself but also helps his friends like stand-up comedian Dolly, the late Sapri's younger brother. "Is there a stand-up kid to MC here? My friend Dolly, the brother of the late Sapri, I invited to MC with me," he said.  

He also hopes that his contribution will open up opportunities for others and become a blessing. "Amen, hopefully. That's why he is trusted, because he also provides a way for friends. It's like, 'De, I have this budget, maybe from Dede it can go to friends.' That financial or honor business is up to them," Dede explained.

In response to the issue that claims he is bankrupt after failing to run for office, Dede confirmed that he did sell a vehicle. However, he remains grateful for the assistance from his colleague, Vicky Prasetyo.

"If that’s really selling a vehicle, then that’s the term. And yesterday, it was Mr. Vicky Prasetyo who invited me," he revealed.  

Dede praised Vicky for remaining responsible despite the failed candidacy. "But every Friday, Kak Vicky often gives to the family, meaning he is responsible. I mean, I’m not completely abandoned like that. There are those who invite you and then leave you, but he invites me, and even after losing, he still provides blessings for the family, thank God," he said.
