Nyepi as the backdrop adds an extra mystical layer due to the prohibition of all activities, including light and sound. Violating the Nyepi rules causes the characters to be haunted by malevolent entities that are hard to explain.

In addition to Della Dartyan, this film stars Kwon Da-ham, who previously appeared in A KILLER PARADOX (2024), 12.12: THE DAY (2023), and NEXT SOHEE (2022). He plays the character Tae-pyeong, who inadvertently triggers the main conflict of the film.
Other names involved include Choi Tae-eun, known for LOVE CATCHER IN BALI (2022), and Lee Jeong-hoon, a former member of the boyband Hitz. The three bring a strong acting background from Korean dramas and films.
TABOO: THE SILENT DAY is currently still in post-production and is scheduled for release in the third quarter of this year. The film targets an international audience by making Bali its main attraction.
