The legal process regarding the report made by Nikita Mirzani against Fitri Salhuteru is ongoing at the South Jakarta Metro Police. The police stated that they will involve several experts to delve into this defamation case.

The case, reported since February 11, 2025, is still in the investigation stage. To strengthen evidence and clarity of the matter, investigators plan to coordinate with experts in the field.

The Public Relations Officer of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Murodih, explained that coordination with experts is undertaken to ensure that all elements in the report are fulfilled before the case can be escalated.

"Well, we will also coordinate with legal experts, language experts, IT experts, and the results of that will determine our next steps," said Commissioner Murodih at his office on Tuesday (5/8/2025).

"So basically we are waiting for the results of that coordination from the experts," he continued, emphasizing that the police are still waiting for input and analysis from the coordination with the experts.

When asked why the process is taking quite a long time, Commissioner Murodih explained that gathering testimonies from witnesses and experts is one of the factors.

"Indeed, we are looking for witnesses, yes, that we need to strengthen our case. One of them is that we also need statements from experts," he explained.

Until now, the police have only questioned Nikita Mirzani as the reporter. Meanwhile, the witnesses from the reporting party have not yet been questioned. "So far, only the reporter," he said.

The report filed by Nikita Mirzani concerns allegations of violations of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE), specifically regarding defamation.
