The Creative Contribution Award from the Japan Academy Film Prize is given to honor the hard work of the production crew that is often unseen on screen. The focus is on technical achievements, ranging from visual effects, cinematography, sound design, to the production technology used in a film.

This year, the award was given to the digital imaging team from studio ufotable for their contributions to the film DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE. This team played a crucial role in merging traditional animation with digital technology, resulting in dramatic, detailed, and highly cinematic visuals. As a result, every fight scene feels alive and full of energy.

One of the main reasons why DEMON SLAYER continues to receive praise from various awards is its outstanding visual quality. Ufotable studio is known for its highly detailed animation style, especially in fight scenes. Every sword swing, elemental breath effect, and character movement feels incredibly smooth and full of energy. The combination of traditional 2D animation with digital technology makes every scene look alive and cinematic.

In the film DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA INFINITY CASTLE, that visual quality is taken to the next level. The design of the Infinity castle, filled with twisting corridors and endless spaces, poses a significant challenge for the animation team. However, this is where ufotable's strength shines. The complex environment remains clear, dramatic, and easy for the audience to follow. It’s no surprise that the digital imaging team from this film ultimately received a special award at the Japan Academy Film Prize for their outstanding technical contributions.

3. Tight Competition in the Animated Film Category

One of the most highlighted is of course CHAINSAW MAN - THE MOVIE: REZE ARC, which is the first film adaptation of the popular anime series by Tatsuki Fujimoto.

Other films nominated include DETECTIVE CONAN: ONE-EYED FLASHBACK, which continues the long success of the DETECTIVE CONAN franchise on the big screen. There are also animated films like 100 METERS and PELELIU: GUERNICA OF PARADISE. All of these films are now competing for the title of Best Animated Film, which will be announced at the official awards night in Tokyo.

Considering the global popularity and production quality of DEMON SLAYER, many fans hope that the film INFINITY CASTLE can bring home the main award this year.
