The case of alleged child neglect involving singer Denada Elizabeth Anggia Ayu Tambunan is back in the spotlight. The civil lawsuit filed by a young man from Banyuwangi, Ressa Rizky Rossan (24), has entered its second mediation agenda today. Unfortunately, on this occasion, Denada as the defendant did not show up.

Ressa Rizky's legal representative revealed the reason for the absence of the singer of the song Mutha Futha. Work commitments in the entertainment industry are the main reason Denada could not attend the court summons in person. Nevertheless, her representative was present at the virtual hearing.

"So today coincidentally the defendant's legal representative is present, without the defendant (Denada) being in attendance. The reason is that the defendant could not attend due to many work schedules, perhaps by contract that she could not leave, thus she could not attend," said Andika Meigista, Ressa's attorney, when met via Zoom on Thursday (15/01/2026).

Denada's absence certainly caused disappointment on the part of the plaintiff. However, behind this absence, Denada's side expressed a desire to resolve this issue outside the formal court process.

Denada hopes for a mediation meeting that is more familial in nature. Ressa Rizky's side also welcomed this initiative and does not rule out the possibility of settling outside the context of the official trial.

"She hopes to meet in a mediation forum outside the context of the mediation that has been set by the court. So their hope is to establish communication, if possible, in a familial way. That's why we are actually open," explained Andika Meigista.

Ressa's legal team is now waiting for confirmation of the time and place from Denada's side. They understand the artist's busy schedule and are willing to adjust their schedule as long as there is a genuine goodwill to meet.

"Later, because she is busy, maybe due to a shooting schedule that cannot be postponed, please adjust the time later. When is the time and where is the place? That's all for now," she added.

As background, Ressa Rizky Rossan filed a civil lawsuit against Denada because he feels abandoned since childhood. The 24-year-old youth demands recognition as a child as well as material and immaterial compensation.

This case began when Ressa started searching for his identity after the death of his grandmother, referred to in this case as Emilia Contesa. This lawsuit has also attracted public attention given Denada's popularity in the Indonesian music industry.
