Denny Sumargo Shares the Trauma of Losing a Future Child

Denny Sumargo revealed a bitter experience that still lingers in his life. The actor and presenter, who is affectionately called Densu, admitted to experiencing trauma after losing a future child during Olivia Allan's pregnancy a few years ago.

The moment occurred when Denny and Olivia were undergoing an ultrasound examination. At that time, they had to accept the reality that their baby's heartbeat had stopped. This experience became one of the most difficult events for Denny to forget.

"Oh, that's me, because at that time, the first time before Biel was born, Olivia and I had been pregnant a few times, one of them was during the first or second time, I can't remember, the first time, during the ultrasound, the heartbeat stopped right before my eyes, on the monitor," said Denny Sumargo when met in West Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7/2026)."I was shocked, because it was the first time. That's where I got traumatized," he added.

This trauma made Denny and Olivia more cautious every time they went through a pregnancy program. In fact, he chose not to immediately share the news of his wife's pregnancy with the public until her condition was truly declared safe.

"But we never really talked about it, just yesterday I spilled because I saw my wife was quite tired. So after four failures, I thought maybe this is the last one," he explained.

Denny also revealed that their struggle to have their first child was not easy. Before being blessed with their daughter, Gabriella, the couple had experienced several pregnancy failures.

"Because it was indeed that difficult, the first one was hard. Getting Biel, Gabriella, it took four failures before we finally got her. It was tough, I felt like I wanted to be given something that I had to wait for," he said.
