Dewi Yull Confirmed to Attend Ray Sahetapy's Funeral

Kapanlagi.com - Senior singer and actress Dewi Yull is confirmed to attend the funeral of her ex-husband, Ray Sahetapy, which is scheduled to take place on Friday (4/4/2025). Although they have been separated since 2004, their relationship remains good for the sake of their children.

"Mother (Dewi Yull) is very likely to come directly to the funeral, she is currently out of town, and will go straight to the funeral upon arriving in Jakarta," said Raya Sahetapy when met at the Sentosa funeral home (Gatot Subroto) Block C, Thursday (3/4/2025).

Dewi Yull's decision to attend Ray Sahetapy's funeral shows the good relationship that still exists between them. Despite being separated for more than two decades, they continue to maintain communication, especially in raising their children.

1. Buried in Tanah Kusir

Ray Sahetapy passed away on Wednesday (4/2/2025), right on the second day of Eid. His departure is a deep sorrow for the family, including Dewi Yull, who had spent years living together in marriage.

Ray Sahetapy's funeral will be held at TPU Tanah Kusir after being laid to rest at Masjid Istiqlal for a prayer. This procession will also be attended by the extended family and fellow artists.

"We will leave around 10 AM to Istiqlal, at Istiqlal after Friday prayers there will be a prayer for the deceased, it will probably finish around 1:30 PM WIB, after that the group will head to Tanah Kusir," said Raya.

2. Ray's Children Will Also Attend

In addition to Dewi Yull, Ray Sahetapy's children will also be present at the funeral procession. One of his children, Surya, who is in the United States, immediately returned to Indonesia upon hearing the sad news.

"Yes, that's right, we are just waiting for Kak Surya, the funeral process was indeed delayed because we were waiting for his child after consulting that it was okay. He was informed yesterday, Kak Surya immediately bought a ticket at 5 AM. And finally, we will wait for the funeral until Surya arrives," explained Raya.

Dewi Yull and Ray Sahetapy married in 1981 and were blessed with four children. Although their marriage ended in 2004, Dewi Yull continues to respect Ray Sahetapy as the father of their children.

The passing of Ray Sahetapy leaves a deep sorrow, not only for the family but also for the Indonesian film industry. As a legendary actor, Ray is known as someone who not only loves the performing arts but also has a broad insight in various fields.
