Difficult to Meet Ustaz Yusuf Mansur, 3 Indonesian Migrant Workers Take Legal Action

Three Indonesian Migrant Workers working in Hong Kong, namely Suratih, Aida Alamsyah, and Yeni Rachmawati, filed a lawsuit against Ustaz Yusuf Mansur at the Tangerang District Court.

Their lawsuit is recorded with case number 1391/Pdt.G/2021/PN Tangerang with the classification of illegal acts. According to Asfa Davy Bya, the lawyer for the three migrant workers, this case started when their clients met Ustaz Yusuf Mansur in Hong Kong in 2014.

"Our clients were invited to a religious gathering. Then the preacher talked about the values of charity. Then he offered an investment in land funds and they were interested," said Asfa Davy Bya, the plaintiff's attorney at the Tangerang District Court, on Tuesday (28/1/2022) to KapanLagi reporter.

Then all three clients deposited a certain amount of funds to jointly purchase land at a price of Rp. 2.2 million per square meter through the cooperative specified by Yusuf Mansur, namely Koperasi Merah Putih.

However, after that, the three plaintiffs were disappointed. Because, what Yusuf Mansur said at that time was not as expected.

"The invested money that has been deposited is unclear in its management and they also do not know the location of the purchased land. That's why this needs to be questioned," said Asfa Davy.

"So after they invested, they were given a website, email, and phone number. But there was no response. Until they asked for a meeting and sent a summons, but it was not responded to," said Asfa.

Asfa Davy further hopes that the judge will grant his lawsuit so that Yusuf Mansur is willing to return the investment money that his client has deposited and also the promised profit.

"We hope the panel of judges declares UYM guilty of illegal acts and returns the principal investment money and its profit, as well as the immaterial losses," said Asfa.
