Donate to Flood Victims in Malang and Batu, Kiwil Wants to Balance the World of Art and Preaching

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Kiwil admits to balancing his life by preaching, besides being busy in the entertainment world that he continues to pursue. Therefore, Kiwil takes the time to actively preach at disaster locations.

"Indeed, we must be active like this, because this is part of preaching. So, the concentration is also in entertainment and preaching, it should be balanced," said Kiwil to KapanLagi.com in Kampung Putih Kota Malang, Monday (8/11).

"Now I'm busy preparing for the latest soap opera that will air in mid-December, maybe in 2022 it will be even busier, God willing. Both preaching and entertainment, let it be balanced," he continued.

Kiwil, accompanied by his new wife, Venti Virgianti, revealed the reason for joining the world of preaching. According to him, life must be useful to others, so preaching activities must be pursued and not abandoned.

"Apparently, the message from the kyai is only one, if you want to be a useful human being, then be useful to others," he emphasized.

Kiwil, along with Venti Virgianti, Daus Mini, and Ustaz Dicky Mirza, visited the locations of the flash flood victims in Batu City and Malang City. The group handed over donations in the form of money and building materials to the victims in Bumiaji Batu and Kampung Putih Malang.

"I spoke to the Mayor, asking for the funds to be disbursed immediately. I apologize to the Mayor, please solve the problems of the common people, because the prayers of the common people are easily answered," joked Kiwil.

Meanwhile, during the visit, Kiwil provided motivation to the victims to remain resilient in facing the ordeal. They also served the community members who wanted to take photos together.

"This (Kampung Putih) is our second location. We donated lightweight bricks, materials for several houses that were lost due to the flash flood, as well as money and Qurans," explained Ustadz Zacky Mirza.

Heavy rain in Batu City and its surroundings on Thursday (11/4) caused a flash flood. A total of 124 households in Batu were affected, resulting in 43 damaged houses and 32 houses submerged in mud. The flash flood also caused 7 deaths and dozens of injuries.

In addition, the flash flood also forced hundreds of families living along the Brantas River in Malang City to evacuate. Their belongings and some of their houses were damaged and carried away by the river's current.
