Due to Floods, Many of Roy Marten's Furniture in the House were Damaged and Lost

Kapanlagi.com - Jakarta residents had to go through the first day of 2020 with an unpleasant story. Due to heavy rainfall since Tuesday (31/12/2019) afternoon until Wednesday (1/1/2020), most areas of Jakarta were submerged in floods that reached more than 1 meter high.

Not only ordinary residents, but also artists who live in the capital were affected, such as Roy Marten. In an interview with the media, the father of Gading Marten shared the condition of his residence in the Kalimalang area, East Jakarta.

"The house was flooded, well what can we do, the rain was crazy. We were still singing at 3 am on January 1st. I saw the water rising, but it only rose in the yard, so I didn't move the car because it was fine. Then I fell asleep, at 5 am my wife woke me up, the flood was already 1 meter high in my house, it happened so fast," said Roy when contacted by phone on Thursday (2/1).

1. Destroyed House Furniture

On New Year's Eve, Roy held an event at his house and invited several guests. When the flood occurred, the guests also helped to secure the furniture in Roy's house.

"Fortunately, there were still many people, some church friends who came to my house for the New Year's celebration helped to move the furniture to the second floor, but some furniture couldn't be saved, they were destroyed, especially the furniture. But the TV is fine," he continued.

2. Roy Marten's House Condition in Chaos

Currently, the flood condition has started to recede. However, as a result, Roy's house became very dirty and filled with mud. Even some of his furniture disappeared as it was carried away by the flood.

"Now, thank God, the house is still in chaos. The water has receded a lot, only the mud remains. Some items are missing, I don't know where they went. The outdoor chairs are missing, and the furniture that couldn't be moved in time is also damaged by the water. Fortunately, my car is not submerged. I have one car, and the guests have two," he concluded.
