The recovery process that Dwi Andhika underwent after the soft tissue infection surgery was not easy. He had to go through a series of intensive treatments to ensure that the bacteria in his body were completely gone, including frequent visits to the ER for antibiotic infusions.

"Oh, the recovery, well it's been a month now. Even now, if asked if my energy has returned? Well, let me put it this way, if asked about my condition, how is it now? Much better. But whether my energy has returned or not, not yet," said Dwi Andika in Jakarta.

Even after being allowed to go home from the hospital, his struggle is not over. He has to undergo further treatment at home with a tube still attached to his thigh for several days to drain the remaining infection.

"Even after returning home from the hospital, I had to have a tube placed in my thigh for several days, you can’t imagine how uncomfortable that is," he revealed.

Although it was tough, Dwi Andika admitted that he was the one who requested to go home earlier than the scheduled time. He hopes that with better immunity at home and the spirit to return to activities, his healing process can be faster.

"But, yes, I was the one who asked to leave the hospital because hopefully my immune system can save me so I can fight the bacteria. We're currently fighting bacteria and infection, right?" he said.

His decision proved to be right. Gradually, his condition continued to improve. His longing for the working world and friends became his biggest motivation to recover.

"Yes, the consequence is that I miss the camera, I miss my work friends, I miss those activities. And it turns out that it really means getting better, getting better, getting better, getting better, getting better, like that. Although I'm still not 100% recovered, but now I'm much better," concluded Dwi Andika.
