Elma Theana Reveals Reasons Her Child's Engagement Used Chinese Customs: Alhamdulillah She's Converted

Kapanlagi.com - Elma Theana is currently happy after her child, Isya Adinda Kalia, was proposed to by her boyfriend recently at a luxury hotel. Interestingly, the engagement ceremony was held using Chinese customs.

Elma Theana acknowledged that her future son-in-law is of Chinese descent. The 49-year-old woman mentioned that her future son-in-law has converted to follow her child's religion, which is Islam.

"Alhamdulillah, finally the time has come to let my child step into a more mature phase, getting engaged," said Elma Theana when met in the Serpong area, South Tangerang, on Thursday (5/9/2024).

"Many friends have asked me, why use Chinese traditions? Indeed, my future son-in-law is Chinese. Alhamdulillah, he has converted," said the sister of Sonny Septian, continuing.

1. Don't Think Too Much About the Background of the Prospective Son-in-Law

Elma explained that what is most important to her is her child's happiness and the character of the prospective son-in-law. “What matters to me is that he can make my child happy. And he is a Muslim, and he can make my child become a pious wife in the future,” she clarified.

According to Elma, she does not think too much about the background of the prospective son-in-law, but focuses more on the qualities and responsibilities of that person. “So I don't look at where he comes from, how he is, what matters is that he is good, responsible, and primarily a Muslim,” she said.

2. The Prospective Son-in-Law Has Received Muslim Guidance

Elma revealed that she has guided her child to choose a partner who can make her a pious wife. “I always tell my child that if my child is like that. I need a man who can make my child a pious wife,” she expressed.

Elma also added that after her prospective son-in-law became a Muslim, she enrolled him in various Islamic schools and guidance programs. “That's why the other day when he became a Muslim, I enrolled him in Islamic schools and guidance programs,” said Elma.

3. Wedding Date Still a Secret

When asked about the wedding date, Elma mentioned that the information is still kept secret. “The date is a secret, you know. Because this... So the kids nowadays, I’m also confused about who to invite, because my child wants it to be closed,” she explained.

According to Elma, the wedding will be held intimately with only about 200 invited guests. “Closed, just intimate, really only 200 people. Really intimate, no media allowed, no one... He said, 'Mom, this is my event, so I really want it to be intimate'. And there will be no handshakes,” Elma concluded.
