Enlivened by Isyana Sarasvati and a Lineup of Cross-Generational Artists, This is the Excitement of the 'Pahlawan Nusantara' Performance from Sabang to Merauke

Kapanlagi.com - Coinciding with the celebration of Indonesia's 78th Independence Day, a Sabang Merauke performance titled Pahlawan Nusantara was held on August 19th to 20th, 2023 at JIExpo Theatre, Jakarta. This event showcased the beauty and diversity of Indonesian culture through dances, music, songs, and Nusantara textiles.

In this performance initiated by iForte, more than 300 cross-generation artists participated. This show aims to commemorate the services of Indonesian heroes and foster the love of the nation's culture and nationalism among the people.

"Sabang Merauke 'Pahlawan Nusantara' performance is our tribute to the heroes who have fought and provided a better life for us as a nation. Therefore, we hope this show can inspire the audience, especially the younger generation, to love the cultural heritage left by our ancestors so that it will not be eroded by the progress of time," said Ferdinandus, the CEO & President Director of iForte and Protelindo Group, after the Sabang Merauke 'Pahlawan Nusantara' performance at JIExpo Theatre, Jakarta, on Friday night, August 18th.

1. Inspiration for the Young Generation

In the same opportunity, the director of the Sabang Merauke Performance 'Nusantara Heroes', Rusmedie Agus, said that one of the special things in the performance is the dialogue between the grandfather and his grandson. It reflects two generations with different perspectives on national spirit. This also includes the story behind the heroes from Aceh to Papua with the background of each region's traditions, tribes, and cultures.

"This Sabang Merauke performance will feel more special and will bring us to get to know more about the services of the past heroes, which are expected to inspire us as the next generation to continue their struggle as heroes for ourselves," said Rusmedie Agus.

2. Introducing the History of Nusantara Heroes

Rusmedie also wants to introduce the history of Nusantara heroes through a theatrical performance that combines regional and contemporary dances. The series of regional and national music is wrapped in spectacular performances and an Indonesian traditional costume parade.

"With a concept development for 6 months and regular training preparations for 3 months in Yogyakarta and Jakarta, we are optimistic that we can provide an interesting performance that will make all the eyes of the audience feel touched and proud to be born on Indonesian soil," he explained.

In addition, the Sabang Merauke 'Nusantara Heroes' event was enlivened by Isyana Sarasvati, Cantika Abigail, Swain Mahisa, Alsant Nababan, Taufan Purbo, Mirabeth Sonia, Christine Tambunan, Nino Prabowo, Yuyun Arfah, Gabriel Harvianto, as well as a special performance by ventriloquist Kak Tony. It also featured musicians such as Dian HP, Avip Priatna, Dunung Basuki, Ammir Gita, and Meidy Ratnasari collaborating on arrangements of 31 regional and national songs performed by the Jakarta Concert Orchestra and Batavia Madrigal Singers.

Not only music and dance, but there was also a fashion show featuring Nusantara textile collections from 17 renowned designers who are members of the Indonesian Fashion Designers Association (IPMI) such as Ivan Gunawan, Era Soekamto, Danny Satriadi, Denny Wirawan, Ghea Panggabean, and Taufik Bachtiar. The involvement of designers includes Iwan Tirta Private Collection, Subeng Klasik, and Griya Ageman, as well as Ivan Gunawan Cosmetics showcased by the finalists of Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2023 and Miss Grand Indonesia 2023.
