Father-in-law Ustaz Solmed Passed Away After Hugging All His Children, April Jasmine's Unstoppable Tears

"I am like a friend to Baba. It means that when with my father-in-law, it feels awkward. But with Baba, I can talk about anything. I treat Baba not as a 'father-in-law' but as a friend to chat with, just older. That's why if it's said that I lost someone, I really lost someone," said Ustaz Solmed to KapanLagi.com reporter at the funeral home.

According to Ustaz Solmed, April Jasmine's father passed away without experiencing any illness beforehand. Therefore, it was quite shocking for the family left behind.

"This Baba was already 87 years old, so he was already very old. This Baba was someone who, not that he never got sick, but his illnesses were just ordinary. If people say headaches, coughs, colds that are regularly experienced by people. There were no high blood pressure, kidney, or heart diseases. So his departure was considered surprising because he was not sick," continued Ustaz Solmed.

"But it can also be said that there were preparations because for about a month, Baba was already different. His eating preferences were different, communication was different, interaction was also different, and he was already different with us, so we started to think about preparing ourselves," he added.

"If there is something different, it could be that we are being invited to prepare, mentally and physically, in case Baba is called by Alla SWT at any time. True enough, there was no going to the hospital. How can an old sick person not be sick but have a weak body? Accompanied to the bathroom, attended to for everything needed. The illness of the parent is already 87 years old," said Ustaz Solmed.

Still according to Solmed, April Jasmine's father passed away peacefully and happily. Because, before passing away, the father-in-law was able to see all his children and grandchildren.

"Still joking around last night with his grandchildren, his children, they all came and hugged him, still chatting, not long after that he passed away," said Solmed.

April Jasmine couldn't hold back her tears of sadness. Ustaz Solmed tried to strengthen his beloved wife.

The late Oman Mardjuki was buried in TPU Joglo, West Jakarta, near the residence of April Jasmine's family.

"We hope that the proximity of the house to the cemetery will make it easier for our extended family to visit, it's convenient and easy," concluded Ustaz Solmed.
