Feeling Technologically Challenged, Lidya Pratiwi Only Learned about Video Calls After Getting Out of Prison

Kapanlagi.com - Previously involved in a murder case, Lidya Pratiwi has been breathing free air since 2013. Even though she is now free, the woman who changed her name to Maria Eleanor admits that she still has many considerations when it comes to using social media.

When contacted by the KapanLagi team recently, Maria admitted that she only started using WhatsApp in the past few years. This is because she was used to using the telephone in the past.

"Yes, I have been using it for the past few years, but maybe because I was used to making phone calls, if there's anything, I don't need to chat for a long time," she said.

1. Just Found Out About Video Call

This 33-year-old woman admitted that she was left behind in terms of technology. One of them is the video call feature which is considered complicated and makes her lazy to try.

"Video call, because a friend contacted me and invited me to zoom. I said it's complicated and I don't understand. It's because my friend forced me to create an Instagram account, but I've always been lazy to use social media. It was the same during the Friendster era, my college friend created it and knew the password, and she was the one who used it. That's it. I don't have a Facebook account," she explained.

2. Accounts Under Her Name

Furthermore, Maria revealed that she had found several social media accounts under her name. However, she doesn't consider it a problem as long as they are used properly.

"I don't know. They said there are several accounts impersonating me. As long as they use it properly, it's fine. I appreciate the attention, actually. It means they made the effort to create those accounts. But I was informed that there were around 8 accounts, some with new names and some with old names. I don't know the current status, whether they are active or not. So, it's okay as long as they don't use it for negative purposes. Thank you," she concluded.
