Ferry Irawan's Address is Unknown, Venna Melinda Hopes Divorce Can Be Decided by Default

Kapanlagi.com - The first divorce hearing between Venna Melinda and Ferry Irawan was held at the South Jakarta Religious Court. The hearing had to be postponed for two weeks because Ferry's latest address is unknown.

The hearing continued only with administrative processes, starting from the power of attorney to the submission of the lawsuit from the plaintiff, namely Venna Melinda.

"So today, September 23, is the first hearing, and the process was administrative, the submission of the lawsuit, the submission of the power of attorney, everything has been submitted by the panel of judges," said Wijoyono Hadi Sukrisno, Venna's attorney, after the hearing on Monday (23/9/2024).

"Then the hearing was postponed for a week because the defendant was absent; according to the panel of judges, the defendant's address is unknown because the summons has already been sent," he added.

1. Ferry's Address Not Found

Venna, as the defendant in her first divorce hearing, was absent and only represented by her attorney. However, if the defendant, Ferry, is present, Venna stated that she would attend the hearing.

"Most likely if the defendant is present, Mba Venna will be present, but since he is not here, Mba Venna is doing other activities," emphasized Wijoyono.

Venna's side has fully entrusted the court regarding Ferry's latest address. If he is indeed not found until the mediation hearing reaches three times, the marriage may be declared dissolved in absentia.

"If summoned properly but does not come, then it will be in absentia," he explained.

2. Venna Melinda's Divorce

It is known that the talak divorce application previously submitted by Ferry Irawan has been declared null after going through a long trial. This is because, after appealing and the trial was declared completed, Ferry did not fulfill his obligation to recite the talak declaration.

"So if asked whether Venna is still with Ferry or not, legally they are still husband and wife because the divorce decree has not been issued, why is that? Because the declaration has not occurred," he concluded.
