Finally First Time Playing in a Horror Film, Amel Carla: Not Afraid at All

Kapanlagi.com - Amel Carla has a funny story before starring in her latest horror film titled MALAM PARA JAHANAM. When she was contacted to play in the film directed by Indra Gunawan and do a screen test, Amel Carla was in London, England.

"So, at 2 am in London, 'Mel, send the video now', (at that time doing the screen test) I shouted the scene 'we have to go home Ren' and from there, I went home (to Indonesia) and immediately did the reading," said Amel Carla in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, not long ago.

1. Not Afraid at All

After that, Amel Carla went through the reading process for about two weeks. As a result, the 22-year-old woman finally got a role in her first horror film.

"This is my first horror film, it's a pride to work with Mr. Parwez, Starvision, right, it's great," said Amel Carla.

"Then my first scene was directly at the slaughterhouse, everything was reversed, a new experience, everything went smoothly off camera, not afraid at all," added Amel Carla.

2. Smooth Shooting

Amel Carla is grateful that the shooting process for her first horror film went smoothly. Moreover, it's not just a horror film because it has a dark history that Indonesia has experienced.

"The story is very relatable, I'm a social science student who loves history, I remember what Bung Karno said, so it's one of the ways for young people who start to forget what happened in 1965 and this can be a means to remember what happened on September 30," Amel Carla concluded.

In addition to Amel Carla, the film also stars Harris Vriza, Aghniny Haque, Djenar Maesa Ayu, Daffa Wardhana, Teddy Syach, and Zoul Pandjoul. The film Malam Para Jahanam is planned to be screened in all cinemas in Indonesia starting from December 7, 2023.
