Financial Difficulties, Ferry Irawan Unable to Use BPJS and Insurance for Treatment

Kapanlagi.com - Despite some improvement, it seems that Ferry Irawan's health condition is still very concerning. The 44-year-old man now has to wear a neck brace and his speech is also stuttering.

When met at his residence in Bekasi area, Thursday (15/7), Ferry revealed that he is not only undergoing medical treatment but also alternative treatment. However, the amount of money that needs to be spent makes Ferry Irawan face difficulties.

"Yes, medical treatment, alternative treatment as well. But my treatment requires a lot of money, because I can't use BPJS either," said Ferry Irawan with a strained voice due to pain.

Even his insurance cannot be used because of his medical history. Therefore, he is grateful to colleagues, friends, and family who have been helping him all this time.

"Insurance also cannot be used because there is a medical history, so all family, friends, many who help (medical expenses) and support," he said.

Several reasons became considerations for Ferry Irawan to undergo two treatments at once. In addition to the higher costs, the uncontrolled COVID pandemic situation made Ferry finally decide to undergo alternative treatments at home instead of having to frequently go to the hospital.

"If in the hospital, the costs will definitely be higher and now with the increasing COVID cases. So, every time I have to go to the hospital and alternative treatment, I have to take a swab test first. Health protocols are followed," he explained.

2. Conditions Are Getting More Difficult

For one medical treatment, Ferry Irawan admitted that he had to spend millions of rupiah. This pandemic situation further worsens the economic difficulties he feels.

"The medicine is quite expensive, sometimes it costs 3 million for a week or two. Just imagine the current situation. I apologize (he gasps for breath) let's continue with this, thank you," concluded Ferry Irawan.
