Finding Another Source of Income Amid the Corona Pandemic, Rio Motret Chooses to Sell Satay

Kapanlagi.com - The corona pandemic has disrupted all sectors and jobs. This is also felt by the famous photographer Rio Motret. He admitted that many of his jobs were postponed due to the corona.

"During this pandemic, many of my jobs have been postponed, including wedding clients, celebrity clients, and exhibition projects that have been delayed. It's not possible to reschedule them until the end of the year or maybe October," said Rio Motret when contacted by Kapanlagi on Tuesday (9/6).

1. Decreased Income

This pandemic has disrupted Rio's business. He admits that his current income has decreased unlike before.

"Certainly, in a pandemic situation like this, all businesses are disrupted, hindered. Of course, income will automatically be affected," he said.

2. Switching to Selling Satay

Not wanting to stay idle, Rio Motret looked for another way to earn money even though he's only at home. Because he enjoys cooking, Rio Motret chose to sell satay.

"We just have to be clever in finding ways to earn income from other fields, like me, for example, I cook. So I open satay pre-orders and it's quite good. Because every time I have pre-orders, they always sell out. So it's okay. Hehe. It doesn't cover everything, but at least there is an activity that generates income while at home," said Rio Motret.

3. Becoming More Creative

Although now all activities are limited, Rio Motret says that people are actually becoming more creative. This can certainly make someone have new activities.

"Actually, with this pandemic, we become more creative, according to me. Like, for example, in the pre-pandemic era, there was no such thing as virtual photoshoots or now many people are creating creative TikTok videos or anything extraordinary," he said.

"Being creative doesn't always have to be our daily routine. For example, suddenly someone can cook or sew clothes, paint, and so on. So maybe we are given time to channel our other talents," Rio Motret added.
