Rieke Diah Pitaloka became popular through her role as Oneng in the sitcom BAJAJ BAJURI that was popular in the early 2000s. Almost two decades have passed, many netizens are curious about the latest news of Rieke, who is already synonymous with the character Oneng. Rieke is now more focused on her career in politics. After running as a candidate for Governor of West Java in the 2013 election, Rieke is now serving as a member of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2019-2024 period.
Rieke has never been absent as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) since 2009. If Rieke completes her term until 2024, then Rieke has been in the parliamentary building for 15 years.
During her tenure as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Rieke has made several breakthroughs. Among them is the Draft Law on State Civil Apparatus and becoming the leader of the Draft Law Number 11 of 2019 which gave birth to the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN).
Rieke also successfully obtained a Doctorate degree in Communication Science from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia. Rieke achieved this degree in 2022.
Having a successful career in politics and a high academic degree does not make Rieke retire from the entertainment world that has made her famous.
Rieke returned to starring in the film titled 'BEFORE, NOW & THEN' which was released in 2022 after being on hiatus for some time.
Very productive, the mother of three children has also written two books titled 'Renungan Kloset' & 'Kekerasan Negara Menular ke Masyarakat'.
Rieke was married to Donny Gahral Adian for 10 years (2005-2015). After the divorce, Rieke admitted that she feels comfortable choosing to live as a single mom.
