Kapanlagi.com - Singer Saipul Jamil is free from prison after serving a five-year prison sentence for bribery and sexual misconduct cases. The singer, who is affectionately called Bang Ipul, admitted to being extremely happy because he can finally breathe free air.

"I feel so happy. Honestly, my life is not yet complete, it's like someone who just woke up, like how is it, just wandering around. But one thing for sure, I'm very happy," said Saipul Jamil at Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta, Wednesday (2/9/2021).

After leaving Cipinang Prison, Saipul Jamil was picked up by his close friend, Indah Sari. The former husband of Dewi Persik plans to visit his parents' graves and also his late wife, Virginia Anggraeni.

1. Visit the Graves of Parents & Wife

"Today, I intend to visit the graves of my parents and my late wife, and then I want to swim in the sea. Until now, I have been bathing with prison water," he said.

Not only that, the 41-year-old singer also admitted that he really wants to eat food that he rarely ate while in prison, such as ketoprak. "I want to eat all kinds of food. I want to eat ketoprak," he said.

2. Serving 5 Years in Prison

Saipul Jamil was sentenced to three years in prison for a sexual assault case. Then, in the appeal verdict, the High Court of Jakarta increased Saipul Jamil's sentence to 5 years in prison. Dissatisfied, through his legal representative, Saipul Jamil filed for a Judicial Review to the Supreme Court.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court rejected Saipul Jamil's Judicial Review and he must serve a 5-year prison sentence. Then, in the trial on July 31, 2017, Saipul Jamil was also involved in a bribery case and was sentenced to three years in prison plus a fine of Rp100 million or an additional 3 months in prison.
