From Najwa Shihab to Didi Kempot, Here are 9 Portraits of Indonesian Celebrities as Anime Characters

An Indonesian illustrator with the Instagram account @chancil.chan has turned these celebrities and public figures into comic or anime characters. From President Jokowi, Najwa Shihab, to the late Didi Kempot, all of them have been transformed into cartoon characters with a distinct Negeri Sakura style.

Curious? Take a look here!

Here is a depiction of President Jokowi as an anime character. He can be seen embracing a miniature of the Monas Monument, with a bird chirping on his shoulder.

Vice President Kyai Ma'ruf Amin also didn't miss out on becoming an anime character complete with a large tasbih. Here, Kyai Ma'ruf looks younger.

Prabowo Subianto's character is also cool. Dressed as a complete general with a robe and beret. He is seen making a heart sign with his finger.

Former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susy Pudjiastuti, appears in a green and red kebaya, with a bun, sunglasses, and Poseidon's trident, indicating that she is the ruler of the ocean.

And here is a glimpse of Najwa Shihab as an anime character. Not much different, still equally beautiful.

Similarly with Deddy Corbuzier. In this illustration, Deddy appears with his characteristic tank top and black glasses. Not to mention, there is also a card around his body as if he is ready to perform magic tricks.

Known for his glamour in all aspects of life, the depiction of famous lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea is filled with shining stars around his body.

Just like the original, Seto Mulyadi or familiarly known as Kak Seto also does not look old when he becomes an anime character.

And finally, a tribute to the maestro of campursari, Didi Kempot. Appearing with a beskap and matching blangkon, as well as wings and a golden circle above him indicating that he has now become an angel. And the many hearts that are cracked or broken because of his departure.
