A heated feud is shaking the Indonesian music scene. Ahmad Dhani and Agnez Mo are involved in a fierce dispute over royalties and music industry ethics. It all started from a copyright infringement case involving Agnez Mo and the song by Ari Bias, which was sharply criticized by Ahmad Dhani. Here are the details.
In June 2024, Agnez Mo was sued by Ari Bias for performing the song "Bilang Saja" three times at her concert without permission. The Central Jakarta Commercial Court ruled in favor of Ari Bias in February 2025, deciding that Agnez Mo must pay damages amounting to Rp 1.5 billion.
Agnez Mo, known for her brilliant music career, plans to file an appeal against the ruling. However, the atmosphere became even more heated when Ahmad Dhani commented on this case.
Agnez Mo responded harshly to Ahmad Dhani's comment, accusing him of twisting the facts. This feud then continued with jabs on social media.
"Standing firm for the truth is never easy. No matter how accurate and fair our stance is, there will always be people who choose to misunderstand and twist our words," wrote Agnez Mo.
Meanwhile, Dhani responded through a post on his personal Instagram account. "Why can't you distinguish between MECHANICAL RIGHTS and PERFORMING RIGHTS? It's a pity you dare to speak up. Once again, the COPYRIGHT LAW was made in 2014, dear," wrote Ahmad Dhani on his IG account @ahmaddhaniofficial.
This conflict is not a direct dispute between Agnez Mo and Ahmad Dhani, but rather Dhani's reaction to the legal issues faced by Agnez Mo. Previously, the relationship between Agnez Mo and Ahmad Dhani was actually quite good, especially since they once dueted in the song "Cinta Mati."
In the case between Agnez and Ari Bias, Dhani is more supportive of Ari because they are both members of AKSI. Dhani also revealed that he had tried to contact Agnez Mo to discuss the copyright issue with Ari Bias, but did not receive a response.
The situation heated up when Agnez Mo spoke out on Deddy Corbuzier's podcast. During that opportunity, Agnez revealed a new fact about her relationship with Dhani that had never been known to the public. Agnez stated that Dhani contacted her to request a support video for his political campaign, but the conversation had nothing to do with the copyright case with Ari Bias.
