Grandfather of Cantika GAC, Director Chris Pattikawa Passed Away

Kapanlagi.com - Sad news came from one of the members of the vocal group GAC, namely Cantika Abigail. Her grandfather named Chris Pattikawa passed away on Monday (1/1/2020) at around 05.30 AM in his house, in the Pulomas area, East Jakarta.

"I just confirmed with Cantika, her grandfather passed away," said Ummi, who is the management team overseeing GAC, when contacted via Whatsapp message.

Due to the condition of Jakarta which has been experiencing heavy rain since Tuesday afternoon, causing floods everywhere, Cantika's family is still discussing about the funeral. "The family is still discussing about the funeral and other matters. It will be updated later," added Ummi.

1. Stroke Attack

Furthermore, it was revealed that Chris Pattikawa has been experiencing problems with his heart since 2017. In that year, he had his first stroke but then recovered.

In December 2019, Chris had a second stroke. His deteriorating condition led to him being hospitalized for several days.

"Around early December, he had a second stroke. His condition worsened and he was taken to the hospital. Last night, on December 31, his condition worsened and he passed away at his home," Ummi continued based on Cantika's account.

2. Renowned Director

Chris Pattikawa is not a stranger in the entertainment industry of the homeland. Born in Ambon on October 1, 1970, he is a director and film producer.

Chris is married to actress Rina Hassim. From their marriage, Jean Pattikawa was born, who contributed to the music scene of the homeland in the 80s. The artistic blood does not stop with Jean alone, as Chris's granddaughter, Cantika Abigail, inherits the musical talent from her mother.
