Haji Faisal Admits to Initially Not Approving the Marriage of Bibi Andriansyah and Vanessa Angel

Haji Faisal also admitted that he initially did not approve when his child asked for permission to marry Vanessa Angel. Especially after finding out that Vanessa was involved in an online prostitution case in Surabaya in January 2019.

"Let me clarify, in the beginning, we did not agree, I admit that I did not agree. I did not agree to the marriage between my late child and Vanessa, especially after the incident in Surabaya. At that time, I was angry with my child and said 'enough already'. Eventually, my child decided to end the relationship," said Haji Faisal at the West Jakarta Religious Court on Wednesday (2/3).

2. Aunt and Vanessa's Relationship Rekindled During Detention

However, Bibi and Vanessa's relationship was rekindled when Bibi regularly visited Vanessa in detention.

"She (Bibi) said, I still remember her words 'Father, okay, I ended my relationship, but for humanity's sake, allow Febi to go to Surabaya to take care of her (Vanes)'. As time went on, it turns out that my child's heart opened up, considering Vanes' condition. Because no one cared. Even Vanes, she has wanted to end her life several times. She said she was tired of living because no one cared, because there was no family who cared. That's what my child said. Finally, they reconnected," he said.

3. Haji Faisal Angry and Bibi Ran Away

Knowing that his son is once again in a romantic relationship with Vanessa Angel, made Haji Faisal's emotions peak. He was angry with Bibi to the point that his late son left home.

"When I found out that they were in a relationship again. Finally, I got angry with my son. At that time, my son ran away for about 2 or 3 months. They had a secret marriage, we didn't know," he said.

4. Suggesting a Legal Marriage

After finding out that Bibi and Vanessa had a secret marriage, Haji Faisal finally softened and suggested that they get married legally.

"After that incident, his mother cried all the time, finally I called my son and the next day he came back. Then there were conversations full of emotions and tears. Finally, I told him, 'you must not have a secret marriage, even if you already have a secret marriage, you must get married legally.' I emphasized that at that time," he said.

For Haji Faisal, with the official marriage between Bibi and Vanessa, it is already proof that he approves of the marriage. He regrets the accusations from Doddy's side, even though they clearly met on that happy day.

"Then it was approved, the paperwork was taken care of. So what wasn't approved? The fact is that the documents were issued. Pak Doddy was also present at the wedding. He himself officiated the marriage. After the wedding, I had a good relationship with Pak Doddy and his family," said Haji Faisal.

5. Deny Allegations of Being Pregnant First

Furthermore, Haji Faisal denies that he approved of his daughter's marriage because he saw Vanessa already pregnant after the secret marriage. He admits to being deeply moved by his daughter-in-law's life story.

"She (Vanessa) came to the house and told me about her life, her journey. I cried, I felt sorry for Vanessa. When she suffered, she told me everything," he concluded.
