As a result of often being a victim of bullying experienced by the father of two children when he was young, no one wanted to be friends with him. At that time, Atta felt like he was being excluded.
"That's why bullying has become like a tradition, I have also experienced it. I don't know since when, but since I was young, I didn't have any friends," said Atta Halilintar when met in the Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/2/2024).
When reminded of what he experienced as a child, Atta admits to being a little worried about his two children, Ameena and Azura. He doesn't want his children to experience what he went through before.
"Bullying may seem simple, but it can affect one's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I also have a daughter, and I hope she doesn't experience such things," Atta said.
"Certainly (I'm worried), at first I had fears. Because bullying happens in expensive schools, public schools, and even in Islamic boarding schools, someone recently died there," Atta continued.
To completely eradicate bullying in the future, Atta can only urge the community to care and fight against it. Moreover, bullying cases do not discriminate and can happen anywhere.
"Do you want to be a child of a government official or a celebrity? Let's all join in the anti-bullying movement. Hopefully, this will also be a lesson for me personally and for my children in the future, as they will also go to school," said Atta.
One of the steps taken to prevent bullying is that Atta will personally go to all schools in Indonesia to advocate for the anti-bullying movement.
